A note for U.S. buyers

Straight talk on birch plywood & CARB

Here's the honest picture. Practically all 5×5 ft (1525×1525 mm) birch plywood that carries a CARB / TSCA certificate is pressed in Russia or Belarus. It's a legacy thing — the presses for this square format were historically built only in the former Eastern Bloc, so that's where certified 5×5 comes from. There are mills in Poland that can press 5×5, but they don't hold CARB/TSCA: demand for birch inside the EU is so strong right now that they simply have no reason to certify for the U.S.

So if you need birch plywood that is both CARB/TSCA-compliant and non-Russian, the workable format is 4×8 ft (1220×2440 mm). Message me with what you need and I'll point you to compliant, non-Russian options.
